Most of these BBQ gifts are things I’ve cooked with myself. I use a ThermoPro TP20 on long cooks and a ConvEGGtor in my Big Green Egg, and I’ve cooked on Big K charcoal. Until about five years ago I’d used a Weber Master-Touch for more than twenty years, lit with what was almost certainly a Weber Rapidfire chimney starter. I’ve ordered meat from HG Walter, and they sell gift cards. I haven’t cooked on a Kamado Joe Classic III, but if you’re buying someone a kamado, it’s the one I’d recommend. These BBQ gift ideas run from £14.95 to £1,999, and I checked every price on 17 October 2026.

Best stocking filler: oak smoking chunks, £14.95
Oak is what I smoke with. Mine’s from my parents’ fallen tree, so I haven’t used Gwernyfed’s, but if you’re buying, Gwernyfed Wood sells kiln-dried oak chunks from its own woodland in Wales at £14.95 for 15 litres or £19.95 for 25 litres. Gwernyfed says the chunks are roughly fist-sized, with some smaller pieces. I’ve used oak on pork, beef, chicken and even whole trout without finding anything it doesn’t suit.
Best for a kettle: Weber Rapidfire chimney starter, £23.99
The Rapidfire is the chimney starter I used on my own kettle, and it’s £23.99 on Amazon UK. Weber says it holds about 2.5kg of charcoal. The grate at the bottom is cone-shaped and a second handle flips up, so you’ve got both hands on it when you pour. At this price I’d just buy the branded one. It’s a kettle gift, though, because you don’t use a chimney starter on a kamado.
Best if you’re not sure: an HG Walter gift card
HG Walter is the online butcher I’ve ordered from. The meat was good, the service was great, and I’d recommend them. Their gift cards are £25, £50 or £100, and they can be spent on anything in the online shop, or there’s a BBQ Box gift card for £118.50. HG Walter delivers fresh across the UK, apart from the Highlands and Islands.
Best charcoal: Big K Professional Marabu Lumpwood, £29
Big K’s restaurant-grade lumpwood is the best charcoal I’ve cooked on. It’s made from marabu, and the 15kg sack is £29 direct from Big K, which is about £1.93 a kilo. It costs more than the bag I use most weeks, but that’s fine. Big K says a load gives you up to three hours of cooking.
Best for long cooks: ThermoPro TP20, £40.49
I use the TP20 on long cooks, and it’s £40.49 on Amazon UK. It has two probes on cables, a transmitter that sits by the barbecue, and a receiver you carry, which ThermoPro says works up to 90m away. It tells me what the meat’s doing without opening the dome. There’s nothing to tell you the batteries are low, though. When mine ran down, the receiver flickered and beeped, and I thought it was broken. ThermoPro is now called TempPro, so it might arrive with either name on it.
Best for an Egg owner: the ConvEGGtor, £105
The ConvEGGtor is Big Green Egg’s own deflector, a round ceramic plate that sits over the fire, and I use mine on every indirect cook. I’ve done more than twenty cooks on it and it hasn’t cracked or chipped. Mine came with my Large, so it’s a gift for someone whose Egg didn’t come with one, or who needs a replacement. It’s £105 for the Large at Big Green Egg UK, and the other sizes run from £65 to £180.
Best first barbecue: Weber Master-Touch GBS 57cm, £299
I cooked on a Master-Touch for more than twenty years, until about five years ago, and it’s the kettle I’d buy. It’s £299 at Weber UK. With a chimney starter and lump charcoal it was easy to light, and mine didn’t really rust. The grate is hinged, so you can add coals mid-cook, and a One-Touch lever sweeps the ash into an enclosed catcher. Weber gives it a 10-year limited warranty.
Best big present: Kamado Joe Classic III, £1,999
The Classic III is £1,999 on its own at Kamado Joe’s UK site, or £2,199 on its cart. It has a 46cm grill, the same width as my Egg, and it comes with a three-tier rack and the SlōRoller. I haven’t cooked on one. I think the cooking itself is very similar to my Egg, but Kamado Joe has made the small things better: the hinge, the gasket and clearing the ash. The ceramics have a lifetime warranty, but only if you register the grill.
Father’s Day BBQ gifts
Father’s Day in the UK is on Sunday 20 June 2027. If your dad has a kettle, the Rapidfire, a bag of Big K and the TP20 together come to £93.48. If he’s got an Egg, the ConvEGGtor or the TP20, and if he’s been talking about a kamado for years, the Classic III. If you don’t know what he cooks on, get the HG Walter gift card.
Christmas BBQ gifts and stocking fillers
For BBQ stocking fillers, the two cheapest things here are the oak chunks at £14.95 and the Rapidfire at £23.99. If you’d rather give them meat, HG Walter’s gift cards start at £25.
Frequently asked questions
What are good BBQ gifts for men?
The same as for anyone who cooks on a barbecue: gloves, tongs, firelighters and at least an instant-read probe, and on a kamado a deflector. Get metal tongs, not ones with silicone tips, because the air under the lid gets hot enough to soften them. Mine are from a normal cooking shop. My leather gloves are OK, but I wouldn’t buy them again, because when it’s really hot they start to not work.
What is a good gift for a BBQ lover?
Something they’ll use on their next cook. If they’ve got a kettle, the Rapidfire. If they’ve got an Egg, the ConvEGGtor or the TP20. If you don’t know, an HG Walter gift card or a sack of Big K.

Disclosure
My Big Green Egg Large was a Christmas present from my sister Kate, and the ConvEGGtor came with it. I paid for my HG Walter order myself, through Kate’s trade account. Nobody sent me any of the other things here, and nobody at any of these companies has seen this before you have. None of the links here are affiliate links, so nothing here earns a commission.
Final verdict
If you’re not sure what to get, buy an HG Walter gift card. If you want something they’ll use on every cook, the TP20 or a sack of Big K. And if it’s a big present, the Kamado Joe Classic III is the kamado I’d recommend.
